Role Summary

The position is responsible for shaping and strengthening the Asia total rewards strategy so it supports business expansion, improves talent competitiveness, and delivers market-aligned, cost-conscious outcomes. The role oversees compensation, benefits, and incentive programs to help attract, retain, and motivate key talent while maintaining compliance and financial discipline.

Key Responsibilities

This role owns the regional rewards framework and ensures it is consistent with business needs, market practices, and cost efficiency goals.

  • Set and govern the Asia compensation and benefits strategy in line with business priorities, competitive market positioning, and cost effectiveness.
  • Lead regional salary structure planning, yearly compensation cycles, and equity assessments using analytics that support better talent decisions and lower risk.
  • Maintain policy control, pay equity decision standards, and documentation that is ready for audit across all markets.
  • Develop, refine, and oversee short-term and long-term incentive plans so payouts are linked to business performance and talent outcomes.
  • Work with Finance and HR business partners to assess financial impact, build payout models, and keep programs globally consistent and compliant.
  • Track incentive ROI, adoption, and how payout patterns relate to performance; use market and internal data to propose enhancements.
  • Manage regional benefits strategy, cost-of-care trends, and employee feedback to improve value and experience.
  • Support annual vendor negotiations and redesigns that improve financial results and service quality.
  • Compare benefits programs against regional benchmarks to keep them competitive and cost-efficient.
  • Create and deliver Asia-wide rewards communications and leader training to improve understanding and adoption.
  • Equip leaders with clear frameworks, market data, and decision tools that strengthen governance and reduce exceptions.
  • Partner with talent and business excellence teams to embed rewards insights into workforce planning and talent strategy.

Performance Measures

  • Target at least 80% alignment between incentive payouts and business performance measures across major plans.
  • Cut pay structure exceptions and off-cycle adjustments by at least 20% through better governance and leader support.

Year One Deliverables

  • Build a unified global incentive structure aligned with business and talent plans.
  • Deliver a clear, practical Asia total rewards strategy.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA or advanced HR certification is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits within a multinational environment.
  • Proven capability in designing, implementing, and governing incentive programs.
  • Strong financial understanding with the ability to model program and cost effects.
  • Experience influencing senior leaders and driving cross-functional decisions.
  • Excellent project management, stakeholder communication, and analytical capability.
