About Singapore Cheshire Home
Singapore Cheshire Home offers long-term residential care for adults with physical disabilities. Through personalised plans, we support residents' physical, medical, emotional, and social needs. Our integrated approach includes healthcare, rehabilitation, and community-based activities to ensure both quality care and enriching life experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement daily therapy routines by delivering prescribed physiotherapy exercises and occupation-centered interventions tailored to residents and Day Activity Centre (DAC) clients.
- Coach residents and DAC clients in Basic Activities of Daily Living (BADL) like transfers, bed mobility, functional ambulation or wheelchair use, and toileting; and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) such as preparing hot beverages, laundry care, community mobility, and use of simple assistive home devices.
- Conduct group therapy sessions involving baking, crafts, physiotherapy, urban farming, hydrotherapy, karaoke, and movie screenings to actively engage beneficiaries.
- Coordinate with the Occupational Therapist on wheelchair maintenance, undertaking minor repairs and cleaning, while liaising with external vendors for complex repairs.
- Participate in in-service training provided by Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist to enhance therapeutic skills and personal development (topics include effective communication, teamwork, conflict management, and resilience).
- Complete First Aid certification and keep certifications current.
- Sanitize therapy equipment and resources thoroughly after use to ensure hygiene.
- Receive training on infection control protocols including respirator fitting, PPE usage, hand hygiene, and proper disposal of PPE and waste.
- Learn and practice fire safety procedures, including fire drills and emergency protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of Therapy Gym facilities for daily use.
- Collaborate closely with therapists to fulfill additional duties required by the Home and DAC.
Administrative Duties
- Accurately document vital signs and therapeutic interventions for residents and DAC clients in the Care Management System (CMS), coordinate scheduling in CMS in conjunction with therapists.
- Oversee and monitor vendor repairs for wheelchairs and therapy equipment; authorize tax invoices if therapists are unavailable.
Qualifications & Skills
- Possess WSQ Higher Certificate in Therapy Support or WSD in Rehabilitation Care; ITE Diploma in Rehabilitation Care is advantageous.
- Demonstrates teamwork, effective communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Exhibit patient, caring, and service-oriented attitude towards persons with disabilities.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and relevant IT applications.
