Job description
Role Overview
This role is for a Test Lead dedicated to a U.S. Treasury Cash and Repo Clearing project based in Toronto, Ontario. The role supports a major capital markets regulatory change initiative, requiring end-to-end ownership of the testing strategy and implementation.
Work Arrangement and Contract Details
- Location: Toronto, ON
- Hybrid onsite schedule: typically 2 days per week in office (Monday and Thursday), with possible adjustment to 3 days per week
- Contract term: 1 year initially, with potential extensions of 6 months to 1 year, and possibility of full-time conversion
- Start date: June 5, 2026
- Compensation: C$95 to C$115 per hour
- Working days: Monday to Friday during core business hours
- No travel expected
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage comprehensive test strategies encompassing user acceptance and end-to-end testing aligned with program requirements
- Lead cross-team testing coordination, including Front Office, Operations, Risk, Finance, and Technology divisions, plus external partners such as FICC, BNY, and Clients
- Oversee readiness activities such as test data preparation, environment setup, file and message validation, and resource allocation
- Critically assess and refine business-driven test scenarios to ensure thorough coverage of regulatory, operational, and risk aspects
- Conduct daily progress meetings, resolve bottlenecks, and facilitate defect troubleshooting collaboratively with stakeholders
- Maintain detailed testing documentation ensuring traceability from compliance requirements through test execution and evidence gathering to support audits and regulatory examinations
- Deliver clear status updates to senior leadership highlighting risks, defect status, and release readiness recommendations
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 5 years leading testing initiatives for large-scale capital markets or regulatory projects involving UAT and integrated testing
- Strong accountability for testing results, adept at spotting gaps, risks, and managing dependencies
- Ability to quickly grasp complex regulatory environments, trade processes, and technical platforms
- Thrives under pressure and ambiguity, skilled at progressing work amid diverse stakeholder inputs
- Deep understanding of dealer operations, covering trade booking, margining, settlements, risk controls, and financial accounting
- A total of 10 years relevant experience, with specific expertise in capital markets and U.S. Treasury Repo products
- Holds an undergraduate degree
