Role Overview

The Test Center Administrator is the on-site representative of Prometric at the test center. This role operates in a busy environment that supports people taking important exams and focuses on checking candidate identity, overseeing testing activity, and enforcing policies that protect exam integrity.

The position is based at the Charleston, WV test center at 2 Players Club Drive.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with hours that may change based on site needs. The center may operate Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday availability is required. Occasional evening work may be needed, and Sunday hours are possible. The ideal candidate should be open to working different shifts between Monday and Saturday, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and schedules are shared two weeks ahead of time.

Responsibilities

  • Apply test center rules, procedures, and operating standards with strong attention to detail.
  • Welcome test takers and confirm their identity before admission.
  • Carry out security procedures, including wand checks where required.
  • Watch candidates closely throughout the exam session.
  • Handle candidate concerns quickly and escalate issues when needed.
  • Keep the testing area secure and protect all materials at all times.
  • Help ensure every candidate has a fair and comfortable testing experience.
  • Identify and report any activity that does not follow company guidelines.
  • Remain adaptable to scheduling needs tied to center operating days.
  • Represent the company’s mission, values, and service standards.
  • Prevent misconduct and safeguard the integrity of the test center.
  • When applicable, scan and capture fingerprint identification digitally.

Qualifications

The role requires a high school diploma or an equivalent credential. College experience is considered an advantage. Candidates must have at least one year of in-person customer service experience, such as in retail, restaurants, or a call center. Applicants must also be 18 years of age or older.

Skills and Tools

This position calls for professional communication, accurate written reporting, multitasking, comfort with small tools and equipment handling, and familiarity with Windows-based software and applications such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web browsers.

Physical Requirements

The job includes bending, stooping, and lifting up to 40 pounds. Candidates must be able to stay in one position for long periods while administering exams, move through the test room every 8 to 10 minutes, escort candidates to and from the room, view screens and camera monitors clearly, and work in tight spaces while maintaining safety procedures.
