Job description
Role Overview and Responsibilities
This position involves comprehensive management of sales processes in the Jamshedpur territory for UltraTech Cement, emphasizing sales collection, credit control, and market penetration. The incumbent plays a critical role in overseeing customer collections, maintaining product supply lines, and ensuring adherence to company credit policies.
Key Duties
- Daily monitoring of debtor ageing and coordinating cheque and demand draft collections from clients.
- Collaborating with Distribution and Inventory Controllers (DIC) to ensure timely collection of payments and submission of accurately completed C forms to the plant.
- Setting stock plans jointly with DIC and providing precise forecasts to support achieving at least 90% accuracy in inventory planning.
- Meeting sales targets for white cement and new offerings by implementing the zonal marketing plan effectively.
- Tracking daily sales figures, coordinating logistics for product delivery, and maintaining updated records of customer categories like stockists, retailers, and direct users.
- Conducting scheduled market visits to build strong customer relationships and gather real-time feedback.
- Managing order collation and entering orders into the e-commerce platform, along with approving credit notes after thorough verification.
- Recording all daily activities and call cycles to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Listening to client concerns related to product quality and pricing, escalating issues to area/state management, and assisting in resolving them.
- Collecting market intelligence about competition, including promotional and pricing strategies, and sharing with supervisors alongside proof like bills.
- Driving retailer engagement through meetings, facilitating technical training in partnership with CASC personnel, and supporting promotional activities to boost product knowledge and application.
- Managing promotional budgets ensuring funds are properly utilized for retail activities, including distribution of promotional materials, credit notes, and gifts promptly.
- Ensuring visibility and proper display of advertising and point-of-purchase materials in retail outlets.
- Providing market insights to direct parties, clay cement, and paint manufacturers to add value to their operations.
- Initial complaint registration and coordination with CASC officers to resolve customer issues on-site.
