Role overview
Kraft Heinz is hiring a Territory Manager to join its New Zealand sales team in Dunedin. This is a permanent opportunity that offers a chance to build a career in sales within a company known for internal development and advancement. The appointment is a fixed-term assignment running from July 2026 through August 2027.
The business is a major global food and beverage company with a broad portfolio of more than 200 established and newer brands across categories such as sauces, condiments, cheese, dairy, meals, meats, beverages, coffee, infant nutrition, and other grocery products.
What the role involves
- Use available sales and store data to understand what is driving performance and where improvements are possible.
- Plan and implement territory and store strategies that help lift results.
- Develop strong working relationships with buyers, store owners, managers, and field teams.
- Adjust communication and engagement style to suit different customer needs and preferences.
- Recommend solutions confidently and use effective selling approaches to secure distribution, ranging, and display outcomes.
- Carry out merchandising standards, relays, and planograms accurately and within required timeframes.
- Keep products visible, well stocked, and aligned with store and brand guidelines.
- Manage time, routines, and priorities efficiently while covering multiple stores.
- Respond positively to challenges, seek feedback, and look for ways to improve performance.
- Work in line with Kraft Heinz values and contribute to the company vision.
- Complete duties in accordance with food safety, environmental, health and safety, ethical, and human resources policies, programs, and goals.
What you will need
- Working knowledge of Excel and the ability to make sense of basic data outputs.
- Understanding of core sales principles, with support from the Regional Field Sales Manager.
- Ability to spot retail execution opportunities by reading simple store data and turning it into practical recommendations.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, including active listening and thoughtful questioning.
- Capability to work well with different stakeholders and help resolve issues collaboratively.
- Good personal organisation, resilience, initiative, ownership, curiosity, and a commitment to ongoing learning.
- Experience presenting, interpreting, and selling using data and insights.
- Ability to work independently, contribute as part of a team, and perform under pressure to tight deadlines.
- A commercially minded, highly organised approach to work.
