Job description
Role overview
Smith+Nephew is focused on advancing health through technology that supports physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. The company’s purpose is to create “Life Unlimited” by helping people from all walks of life overcome health barriers.
In New Zealand, you would join a collaborative, high-performing group that values teamwork, open idea-sharing, and a solutions-oriented mindset. The business is growing, particularly within the Advanced Wound Management area, making this an opportunity to contribute to important progress across the hospital channel.
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this position exists to accelerate sales growth for Advanced Wound Management products in hospitals across the South Auckland territory.
What you will do
- Deliver sales results for the assigned territory and product range, while building and maintaining account plans and growth opportunities using available tools such as Synapse and Sportsman.
- Take ownership of rolling out marketing and channel plans within the territory.
- Ensure territory planning is aligned to the playbook so effort is directed toward the highest-return activities.
- Spend at least 80% of the working week in Focus and Optimise accounts, in line with KPI expectations.
- Track progress against sales targets and take corrective action where performance is off track.
- Attend all planned sales meetings and team huddles and contribute actively.
- Collaborate closely with other Smith+Nephew team members wherever account or territory responsibilities overlap.
What you will need
- A tertiary qualification in science or business would be an advantage.
- Strong background in medical sales, particularly within hospital settings and in influencing healthcare professionals relevant to the portfolio, or solid clinical experience in surgical/theatre environments.
- Sound knowledge of New Zealand’s public and private healthcare systems.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time, depending on business requirements.
