Role Overview
Colgate-Palmolive is seeking a Territory Business Lead for its Professional Oral Care team in Kolkata, West Bengal. This is an on-site role with no relocation support provided. The position carries full responsibility for territory performance and combines team leadership, customer relationship management, and business execution.

What the Role Involves
In this position, you will be accountable for the overall success of the territory by leading a frontline team, strengthening professional relationships, and driving sales and recommendation outcomes. You will work closely with dental professionals, stockists, and dealers to improve brand advocacy, product availability, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide, supervise, and energize a frontline team that works on third-party payroll to achieve core execution goals such as dentist coverage, chemist availability, and in-clinic conversion.
- Provide coaching and mentoring through regular in-clinic mentoring sessions to improve team capability, product understanding, and selling effectiveness.
- Set clear team goals and ensure territory plans are implemented successfully.
- Build and deepen relationships with important dental professionals to develop loyalty and long-term advocacy for Colgate.
- Develop strong working partnerships with stockists and dental dealers so products remain available and the supply chain works efficiently.
- Take complete ownership of territory revenue, recommendation metrics, and overall business expansion.
- Improve operational efficiency by planning routes effectively, using resources well, and ensuring digital reporting compliance through tools such as C4C-SAP Marketing Cloud.
- Study company, channel, and category data to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities, then convert findings into practical business plans.
- Oversee demand-generation efforts for therapeutic products across pharmacies and dental channels.
- Serve as the key source of oral health knowledge for the team and major accounts.
- Ensure the professional marketing strategy and brand support plans are executed to a high standard.
- Represent Colgate at important dental conventions and related activities, including team coordination and engagement planning.
- Prepare and present regular updates on territory health, team performance, and business priorities to senior leadership.
- Follow all company policies, processes, and standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in Science, Pharmacy, Health Science, Marketing, or Business Administration. The role requires at least 7 years of experience in medical detailing, sales, or territory management, with preference given to candidates from dental, oral care, healthcare, or pharmaceutical sales backgrounds.
Prior experience in leading, coaching, or mentoring sales teams is important, and exposure to third-party teams is a strong advantage. Candidates should also have strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and relationship-building abilities, along with an intermediate level of English.
Preferred Background
Additional advantages include familiarity with Office or Google productivity tools, 2 to 3 years of experience as an Area Sales Manager in a related industry, experience using CRM platforms such as C4C-SAP Marketing Cloud, and prior work in managing dental or stomatological business.
