Technology Design & Architecture Senior Expert

Job purpose

This position is accountable for steering the design and architecture work for Specialized’s technology initiatives across mission-critical and business-critical areas. It involves converting business needs into strong technical solutions, ensuring architecture principles are followed, and keeping the work aligned with stc Group’s overall direction. The role also supports innovation efforts and helps shape technology architectures that are scalable, secure, and ready for future needs.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the implementation of technology design solutions for mission-critical and business-critical environments, while keeping them aligned with business needs and national communications requirements.
• Apply architecture governance models and standards to maintain consistency, compliance, and alignment with stc Group’s technology strategy.
• Own the development and ongoing refresh of end-to-end technology architectures, working closely with Corporate IT Services on shared IT components.
• Make sure technology designs follow stc Group standards and support integration, scalability, and efficient operations.
• Support execution of technology strategy by reviewing market developments and contributing input for planning and future architecture direction.
• Set and maintain network architecture standards with emphasis on security, resilience, and scalability.
• Lead design work across networks, platforms, and applications to satisfy operational and service expectations.
• Contribute to innovation and R&D activities within the CoE, including assessment and adoption of new and emerging technologies.
• Convert business and service needs into detailed technical specifications, service-level agreements, and architecture documentation.
• Evaluate design deliverables, identify weaknesses or gaps, and recommend enhancements to match changing infrastructure and business requirements.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of relevant professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is also acceptable or preferred as indicated.
• Preferred academic background includes Telecommunications Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
