Techno-Functional Consultant Odoo (m/w/d) – Full-time, Remote or Hybrid (Berlin / Xanten)

Company Overview

We are an e-commerce group located in Berlin and Xanten, specializing in developing proprietary furniture brands, designing products, and managing international online stores in outdoor living, children's furniture, and lifestyle sectors. Our ERP backbone is Odoo 16, central to all operational processes.

Role Overview

You act as the critical link between various business departments and the ERP system. Your role involves understanding the needs of purchasing, warehouse, or accounting teams and implementing these requirements into Odoo, or directing external developers for technical tasks. Unlike fluctuating client projects, you are continuously shaping the processes in a growing company and witnessing the impact of your work daily.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead techno-functional responsibilities for Odoo implementation projects, handling everything from fit-gap analysis, conceptualization, configuration, development to go-live and hypercare phases.
• Analyze business processes across departments including sales, purchasing, inventory, accounting, and manufacturing; align them with Odoo standard features, customizing only when necessary.
• Facilitate workshops with business units to elicit requirements, translate them into functional specifications, and suggest solution options.
• Develop independently within Odoo using Python, XML views, OWL frameworks, and create custom modules; conduct code reviews of contributions from internal and external sources.
• Design and execute integrations with third-party systems such as Magento, Akeneo, and payment service providers; manage external partners involved in integration work.
• Plan and execute data migrations; oversee user acceptance testing phases.
• Manage and guide external Odoo partners on both technical and functional matters; validate delivered outcomes.
• Train key users, maintain functional documentation, and provide ongoing support for live modules.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience working with Odoo, whether as a developer or techno-functional consultant.
• In-depth knowledge of core Odoo modules including sales, purchasing, inventory, and accounting, with understanding of standard capabilities and limitations.
• Ability to analyze and clearly communicate business processes to stakeholders at all levels, from executives to developers.
• Native-level German proficiency and good command of English to collaborate effectively with external partners.

Additional Preferred Skills

• Odoo (Functional) Certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience with e-commerce processes and familiarity with German accounting requirements.
