Job description
About the Role
This position is for a hands-on technician supporting the upkeep and reliability of cleaning equipment used at Changi Airport. The role focuses on keeping machines operational, safe, and well-documented through maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and coordination with vendors and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing and repairs on cleaning equipment such as high-pressure jets, leaf blowers, scrubbing machines, vacuum cleaners, battery-operated carts, and similar tools.
- Check equipment condition and evaluate whether the machines are functioning properly.
- Diagnose faults and resolve breakdowns in machinery.
- Perform scheduled upkeep and safety inspections to reduce equipment downtime.
- Compile maintenance records and submit reports as required.
- Work with external suppliers and repair vendors when specialist repairs are needed.
- Review the quality of cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment, and monitor that standards are maintained.
- Label and track assets to maintain clear equipment accountability.
- Document inspection findings, share fault details with internal teams or vendors, and follow through until issues are fixed.
- Handle other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of NITEC or Higher NITEC in Engineering or a closely related field.
- Prior exposure to mechanical or electrical maintenance and repair work is preferred.
- Capability to identify equipment issues and carry out preventive maintenance.
- Comfort with basic computer use for reporting and maintaining records.
- A practical, responsible, and independent worker who is comfortable working with minimal supervision.
- Must be willing to work at Changi Airport.
- Work schedule is 5.5 days per week: Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
