Role overview
GT Medical is hiring a proactive, results-focused Technical Support Officer to act as the first point of contact for IT assistance and help keep daily technology operations running smoothly across the business. The role involves identifying, diagnosing, and fixing issues related to hardware, software, networks, and systems while delivering a high standard of user support.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the initial contact for technical support requests through phone, email, remote access tools, and in-person assistance.
- Identify and resolve problems involving hardware, software, printers, and network connectivity.
- Set up, configure, and support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
- Administer Microsoft 365 user accounts, passwords, and access rights.
- Assist with Microsoft Outlook and other email-related issues.
- Refer more complex issues to higher-level IT specialists when needed.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding by preparing IT accounts, devices, and access.
- Keep IT inventory records and documentation accurate and up to date.
- Investigate Wi-Fi and network connection issues.
- Follow IT security procedures and promptly report any incidents.
- Install and set up IP phones, including Grandstream devices.
- Support CCTV installation and maintenance, including Hikvision systems.
- Configure biometric and fingerprint attendance systems such as ZKTeco.
- Deploy and maintain endpoint protection tools such as ESET.
- Train users and encourage good IT usage practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Between 1 and 3 years of experience in IT support or help desk positions.
- Solid working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Practical understanding of networking basics, including LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting hardware and software.
- Familiarity with IT asset tracking and user administration.
- Experience with IP telephony, CCTV systems, and biometric solutions is preferred.
- Knowledge of endpoint security software such as ESET or similar tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical ability.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
- Willingness to support both remote users and on-site needs.
