Role overview
This position supports procurement activities for the Abu Dhabi Tooling Center, focusing on tooling equipment, consumables, and related services needed for smooth day-to-day operations. The role works closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to help ensure purchases are completed on time, inventory is kept at healthy levels, and sourcing remains efficient across the UAE and the wider region.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with purchasing tooling equipment, consumables, services, and CAPEX items for operations across the UAE and the region.
- Identify, assess, negotiate with, and onboard suppliers to secure good quality, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery while broadening the vendor base.
- Carry out receiving checks to confirm that delivered items meet required specifications and quality expectations.
- Track stock positions, maintain appropriate inventory levels, and support urgent project needs through fast local sourcing.
- Work with different departments to anticipate tooling requirements and contribute to localization efforts that reduce lead times and improve cost efficiency.
- Build and update a detailed supplier database while reviewing vendor capabilities and suitability.
Experience and skills
The role asks for 3 to 4 years of procurement experience, ideally in tooling, the energy sector, or workshop-based environments. Candidates should understand tooling equipment, consumables, procurement systems, and standard procurement documentation. Strong negotiation and people skills are important, along with the ability to work comfortably in multicultural teams. Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP is helpful, though candidates who are keen to learn are also considered. The role also requires the ability to work independently while supporting senior team members when needed.
