Role Overview
The Transfer Agency division administers third-party fund services for many fund management companies, handling shareholder functions such as transactions, registration, settlements, distributions, commission management, and statements. This role supports operations with technical expertise, complaint handling, process reviews, audit coordination, and management reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Team Leader in managing operational workflows and staff allocation efficiently.
- Execute complex tasks that significantly affect financial, client, or business outcomes, serving as a subject matter expert and mentor to junior staff.
- Oversee daily operations and supervise junior team members informally.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned workloads, utilizing Northern Trust’s workflow systems.
- Participate in reviewing investor documentation following AML policies and highlight any missing due diligence information to the Investor AML team in Ireland professionally and promptly.
- Escalate and help resolve complex issues including those from Northern Trust partners, primarily the Investor AML Department in Ireland.
- Respond efficiently and professionally to queries from Northern Trust partners.
- Support Ireland & UK Investor AML processes in coordination with local and international teams, providing regular, accurate updates.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with partners within the Ireland Investor AML Department.
- Ensure compliance with audit, risk, and regulatory standards among AML support teams across Bangalore, Pune, and Ireland, adapting to changes in legislation and best practices.
- Stay updated with Investor AML best practices and advocate for continuous process and procedure improvements.
- Perform additional duties during high workload periods or staff absences.
- Adhere to and enforce adherence to global AML regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in conducting all duties.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proficient knowledge of daily AML operations and fund administration processes.
- Previous experience in Anti-Money Laundering is essential.
- Strong organizational capabilities and excellent communication skills.
- Effective risk assessment and management skills.
- Ability to investigate complex issues and propose well-researched solutions in cooperation with management.
- Familiarity with global Investor AML regulatory environments.
- Competent with Microsoft Office applications relevant to role tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related fields; qualifications such as CA, ICWA Intermediate, Master’s degree, IAQ, IOC or equivalent are advantageous.
- Background in auditing, operational control, risk management, finance, or capital markets is preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and extended hours.
