Role Summary
The San Antonio Spurs seek a Team Operations Specialist focused on equipment to manage daily operational and equipment needs for players, coaches, and the Basketball Operations staff. This role is critical in ensuring readiness for practices, games, travel, and related basketball events. Responsibilities include coordinating equipment and apparel logistics, preparing facilities, and supervising team attendants. This position requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to adapt in a dynamic professional sports setting where priorities frequently shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily coordination of equipment and apparel for players, coaches, and Basketball Operations personnel.
- Oversee ordering, inventory control, distribution, and preparation of equipment for practices, games, and other activities.
- Maintain accurate records of player sizes, equipment inventory, and relevant databases.
- Handle equipment logistics for home games, road trips, training camp, Draft workouts, Summer League, and other initiatives.
- Prepare and sustain locker rooms, equipment storage, laundry facilities, and basketball-specific areas at the Victory Capital Performance Center.
- Ensure all equipment, uniforms, apparel, and supplies are properly prepared, packed, and tracked for team travel.
- Provide leadership, training, and daily direction to team attendants, including scheduling and quality assurance of work.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Team Operations and equipment staff to proactively meet team needs.
- Support special projects and department initiatives as assigned.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a minimum of three years' experience in athletic equipment management, team operations, professional sports, or related fields.
- Preferably have prior experience leading or coordinating support staff in fast-paced environments.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail and pride in accurate, thorough work completion.
- Show capacity to anticipate team needs and respond calmly and efficiently when priorities shift.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment consistently.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using inventory management systems.
- Hold a valid driver’s license with ability to operate company vehicles as needed.
- Physically capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds regularly; able to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended durations.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel alongside the team as required.
