Role Overview
This position is responsible for supporting Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plant operations at the Visakhapatnam Rural mandal location. The role focuses on process stability, environmental compliance, operational efficiency, and sustainability outcomes within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee ZLD plant operations and keep the system running efficiently and stably.
- Ensure adherence to operating procedures, environmental norms, and safety requirements.
- Carry out regular inspections and preventive upkeep of ZLD equipment to reduce breakdowns and improve asset life.
- Monitor effluent quality indicators and confirm that treated water complies with discharge standards.
- Improve treatment performance to raise water recovery, lower chemical consumption, and increase overall efficiency.
- Identify and implement measures that save energy and water in support of sustainability objectives.
- Maintain accurate operational logs and prepare routine KPI reports covering effluent quality, power usage, and chemical consumption.
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, maintain data accuracy, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
A degree in Science (Chemistry or Environment), Chemical Engineering, Environment Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Additional certification in Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Lead Auditor, Certified Environmental and Safety Compliance Officer (CESCO), Environmental Social & Governance (ESG), or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
The role calls for 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing.
Additional Requirements and Exposure
- Experience with compliance records prepared for PCB submissions, including effluent, air, and hazardous waste data, is desirable.
- Exposure to Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring System (CAAQM) station monitoring and sustainability data management is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in waste handling and in operating ETP, STP, or ZLD systems is desirable.
- Familiarity with online compliance platforms such as PCB Environment Management System (EMS) and hazardous waste tracking or barcoding workflows is preferred.
