Working conditions
The work environment is generally indoors with moderate noise, although some work occurs in outdoor lot areas. Surfaces are typically hard, such as concrete or asphalt, and lighting and temperature are adequate. Shifts vary by store and are typically at least 4 hours long and may extend beyond 8 hours. The role also requires supporting a safe and productive environment for team members and customers while following company safety training and guidelines.
Physical demands
This is a physically active role. The team member must be able to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely, use store equipment properly, and provide strong customer service throughout the shift. The job may involve occasional overhead reaching, frequent standing, kneeling, twisting, crouching, squatting, bending, stooping, and climbing ladders. The team member must be able to access the sales floor, side lot, stock area, and register area, operate store systems and equipment continuously, process information and merchandise through point-of-sale systems, communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and move live animals, equipment, and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds. Successful completion of required training and certifications is also necessary. Lifting 50+ pounds is part of the role.
