Job description
Overview
This role involves rotating through various finance functions to gain comprehensive exposure to financial and operational business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Detect deficiencies in controls and processes and recommend corrective measures.
- Assist with process enhancements including automating manual tasks.
- Collaborate with mentors and submit required deliverables.
- Develop understanding of MIS, account receivables & payables, and taxation related to the Energy and Agriculture products sectors.
Accounts Payable Tasks
- Utilize SAP system for entering and retrieving data.
- Familiarize with vessel berthing and product handling procedures.
- Acquire working knowledge of general insurance policies such as fire and marine insurance.
Accounts Receivable Duties
- Identify criteria necessary for issuing invoices compliant with statutory norms.
- Record receipt of payments considering TDS for ledger reconciliation.
- Prepare MIS and AR reports for senior leadership review.
- Maintain a credit control matrix for customers before dispatching Delivery Orders and contracts.
- Address customer inquiries and provide suitable solutions.
MIS and Reporting
- Compile and analyze MIS reports relevant to Energy and Agriculture divisions.
- Spot revenue leakages, suggest improvements, and practice accounting within ERP systems.
- Gain foundational knowledge of Forex and finance operations.
- Interpret contracts and assist in standardization and checklist development.
- Support Transfer Pricing audits and understand tax-related processes.
- Learn about shipping documentation and related procedures.
Tax & Compliance
- Prepare MIS reports on GST and Income Tax litigations.
- Understand coal transfer pricing mechanisms.
- Support GST return preparation and payment activities.
- Collaborate on Companies Act compliance tasks.
- Prepare TDS payments and file returns.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Strong foundation in Finance, Accounting, and Taxation principles.
- Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
- Team-oriented, goal-driven, quick learner, and focused on results.
- Qualified CA finalist or passed CA on first attempt with 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
