Job description
About Careem
Careem is creating the region’s Everything App across the Middle East, designed to make everyday life simpler — from getting around and ordering meals or groceries to handling payments and more. The company’s mission is to improve people’s lives while building a strong organisation that people are proud to work for.
Founded in 2012, Careem has helped over 2.5 million Captains earn income, supported more than 70 million customers, and developed a platform for top talent and entrepreneurs across the region. Today, it operates in 70+ cities across 10 countries, spanning from Morocco to Pakistan.
The company is also moving into a new phase powered by AI. It is seeking people who are curious, practical problem-solvers and can use AI to build tools, automate work, and create meaningful improvements in operations, customer experience, and internal systems.
About the Team
You will join a fast-moving group of Careem professionals working to scale Careem Food into a market-leading platform. The team is driven by ownership, ambitious thinking, and service to customers, partners, colleagues, and Captains. In this role, you will lead the team responsible for delivering the sales strategy, onboarding new partners, and expanding restaurant supply to improve the customer experience.
About the Role
As Sales Team Lead for Dubai and the wider UAE market, you will focus on building new restaurant partnerships, especially in Dubai. Your leadership will help shape team performance, strengthen sales execution, and support the company’s growth in this highly competitive market.
What You’ll Do
- Guide, motivate, and manage a team of 8 sales professionals so they consistently meet their targets.
- Coach team members, support their development, and help them grow professionally.
- Step in to support deal closure and assist with important negotiations when required.
- Strengthen pipeline management and improve sales efficiency.
- Work with the Head of Sales to design and execute effective sales plans for Dubai.
- Spot and prioritise key brands and high-demand restaurant categories to close supply gaps.
- Develop persuasive, data-backed pitches and sales materials.
- Improve and refine internal processes to raise team productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth onboarding and long-term partner success.
- Carry out regular competitive analysis to understand supply gaps versus major competitors.
- Create and maintain a focused target list of priority brands and pursue them persistently.
- Partner with marketing, operations, and account management teams to set up newly signed brands for success and retention.
What You’ll Need
- 3–5 years of experience leading sales teams, along with a solid background in direct sales.
- A record of improving team performance through effective strategy and management.
- Ability to build a strong performance culture and align the team around a shared goal.
- Strong analytical ability and experience using Excel and Salesforce.
- Good knowledge of Dubai’s population patterns and geographic layout.
- Excellent reporting and communication skills, with the ability to turn data into action plans and insights.
- Experience in food delivery or technology would be an advantage.
- Must be fluent in both Arabic and English.
Location
This position is based in Dubai, with occasional travel across the UAE as needed.
Benefits
- Opportunity to work with talented colleagues in a high-impact, purpose-driven environment.
- A chance to contribute to meaningful work in a region with significant untapped potential.
- Continuous learning and development opportunities.
- Remote work from any country for 30 days each year.
- Unlimited vacation days per year.
- Healthcare coverage and fitness reimbursements for activities such as gym memberships, health clubs, and training classes.
Additional Information
This is a full-time role. The job description highlights both Dubai-based work and the ability to work remotely from any country for 30 days per year, so the role is classified as hybrid. No salary or vacancy count was specified.
