Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned professional for a Team Member position focused on regulatory matters and power purchase. The role is based in Ranchi and is suited to someone with deep exposure to electricity regulation, tariff-related work, and reforms in the power sector. Prior experience with power distribution utilities/licensees or a State Electricity Regulatory Commission will be important for success in this position.
Qualification
The preferred academic background is an MBA in Finance or Power Management, along with a B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or EEE.
Experience
This role requires more than 6 years of relevant experience after MBA completion.
Eligibility Criteria
- Experience in regulatory work for power distribution utilities or licensees.
- Experience in regulatory assignments with a State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC).
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and submission of tariff petitions, ARR petitions, and other regulatory filings before the SERC.
- Study, interpret, and apply regulatory orders, circulars, directions, guidelines, and notifications issued by SERCs and CERC.
- Assist distribution companies in meeting regulatory obligations, managing data, and completing statutory submissions.
- Evaluate the regulatory impact of decisions and suggest practical strategies for utility operations and financial planning.
- Work with SERCs, power utilities, and government bodies on active regulatory assignments.
- Contribute to business model reviews, financial assessments, and policy documents connected to power distribution reforms.
- Help organize and support public hearings, including drafting responses to stakeholder objections and questions.
- Prepare presentations, reports, MIS updates, and other internal or external communication material.
