Role overview
This position is part of the Corporate Functions & Strategy team and works closely with the CIO and technology leadership to keep strategy, governance, and execution tightly aligned across the Technology Division. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Functions & Strategy, the successful candidate will bring together financial management, vendor oversight, and business operations into one operating model. The role helps ensure technology initiatives are prioritised, funded, and governed effectively, while staying aligned with business needs, risk considerations, and Group objectives. It also supports stronger leadership alignment, clear communication, and disciplined execution across the division to deliver long-term strategic outcomes.
Strategy & transformation
- Partner with senior leaders to define and implement technology strategy and transformation priorities.
- Oversee programme governance by monitoring milestones, risks, and dependencies.
- Support senior management and board-level strategic discussions related to IT.
IT finance management
- Own budgeting, financial planning, and cost governance for the Technology Division.
- Improve cost efficiency while maintaining a balance between investment and innovation.
- Provide forward-looking financial insights to guide strategic decisions.
- Apply value-based investment approaches that connect spend with business results.
Procurement and vendor management
- Set the direction for technology sourcing and vendor strategy.
- Lead procurement work across both projects and business-as-usual activities.
- Build strong vendor governance, performance tracking, and risk oversight processes.
- Support commercial optimisation and manage key strategic vendor relationships.
Corporate functions and governance
- Drive initiatives that strengthen people, culture, and engagement across Technology.
- Run communication channels such as townhalls and leadership updates.
- Serve as an important liaison with Group functions and other stakeholders.
- Manage governance forums, reporting cycles, and operating rhythms.
Skills and capability expectations
- Deep understanding of IT financial management, sourcing, and governance frameworks.
- Ability to convert strategy into execution and measurable results.
Requirements
- A good degree is required.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in IT strategy, finance, procurement, or vendor management.

- Demonstrated success in cost optimisation and improving operational efficiency.
