Role Overview

The Tax Associate will be part of the collaborative and supportive Tax Team, working closely with wealth management professionals to provide tax compliance services for high-net-worth clients. This role includes preparing tax returns, creating projections, and handling tax analysis while maintaining superior client service and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare income tax returns for individuals, trusts, and businesses with high net worth
  • Develop quarterly tax estimates and projections
  • Respond promptly and accurately to tax inquiries from clients and wealth management teams
  • Coordinate with tax support staff to ensure efficient workflows and data accuracy
  • Assist with tax notice responses and initial correspondence preparation
  • Keep current on tax law changes and updates
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline
  • 1 to 3+ years’ experience in tax preparation, preferably in public accounting
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent credentials obtained or planned is advantageous
  • Familiarity with CCH software, including Axcess, Workflow, Practice, and SafeSend is preferable
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Capability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining complex concepts clearly to clients and advisors
  • Proficient time management abilities

Work Hours and Conditions

This position requires availability Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional Saturdays during tax season. Early or late work hours may be necessary to meet deadlines. The role may be based in a professional office or a dedicated home office equipped with essential technology. The work involves sitting and standing for extended periods, without heavy lifting above 10 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary ranges from $76,500 to $90,000 USD, determined by factors such as location, experience, education, skills, and certifications. Eligible employees may also earn incentive compensation through various company programs.
