Job description

About STARK

STARK is building a new model for defence technology, focused on deploying autonomous systems across several domains. The company develops and manufactures high-performance unmanned systems that are defined by software, scalable in large numbers, and designed to be cost-efficient. Its aim is to give operators a meaningful advantage in contested environments.

Rather than selling long-term promises, STARK concentrates on delivering systems that can be used now. With global threats increasing, the company is helping strengthen the technology advantage of NATO allies and their partners to support deterrence and defend Europe today.

Your mission

STARK is growing rapidly across multiple European defence programmes. The people hired now will play a major role in shaping the products and systems the company brings to market. In this sourcer role, you will own the start of the hiring funnel by identifying hard-to-find candidates in highly competitive markets where the strongest talent is often not actively looking. You will work closely with Talent Acquisition Business Partners to build strong, qualified pipelines for challenging defence-tech roles.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and deliver sourcing approaches for technical and engineering positions across European programmes, including UAS, C-UAS, autonomy, embedded systems, and flight testing.
  • Reach out to passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean searches, GitHub, niche groups, industry events, and competitor research.
  • Write outreach messages that are tailored, technically credible, and sensitive to the realities of the defence sector.
  • Screen candidates in advance for right-to-work status and likely clearance eligibility before passing them to the Talent Acquisition Business Partner.
  • Carry out structured talent mapping by reviewing target employers, university talent pools, and competition ecosystems, then share the insights with recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Keep ATS records accurate in Personio and track sourcing funnel performance, including response rates, conversion rates, and channel effectiveness.
  • Work with Talent Acquisition Business Partners and hiring managers during intake to convert role needs into searchable candidate profiles.
  • Experiment with new sourcing channels, tools, and messaging to continually improve outreach results.

Required qualifications

  • At least 2 years of sourcing experience, with substantial exposure to deep-tech, engineering, aerospace, or defence hiring.
  • A strong record of engaging passive technical candidates, supported by measurable response outcomes rather than simply high message volume.
  • Excellent working knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean and X-ray search, and at least one current sourcing toolkit.
  • Clear curiosity about complex engineering domains, shown through independent research and the initiative to ask thoughtful, detailed questions.
  • Practical understanding of European hiring realities, including right-to-work rules, relocation considerations, and basic security-clearance eligibility requirements.
  • Strong English communication skills and the ability to work remotely with a distributed European team; willingness to travel when required.

Good to have

  • Previous hiring experience in defence, aerospace, or dual-use technology, including familiarity with clearance systems such as Ü2/Ü3, SC/DV, or NATO SECRET.
  • Experience delivering talent mapping or competitive intelligence work.
  • Background in sourcing from less traditional communities such as drone and UAV competitions, maker spaces, or ex-military networks.

Security clearance

Because this role supports defence-sector work, applicants must be eligible to obtain and keep the security clearance needed for the position. Full details will be shared during the hiring process.

Equal opportunity

STARK is an equal opportunity employer and values a diverse, inclusive workplace. Every qualified applicant will be considered without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or any other status protected by law.
