Role overview
This position is focused on finding, engaging, and hiring strong candidates for both management and skilled-craft roles. The person in this role will use multiple sourcing channels, including job boards, social media, and internal employee networks, to build a reliable pipeline of talent. It is a high-energy, self-directed position with limited daily supervision and room to shape recruiting practices and improve the department’s approach. The main objective is to help Astreya attract, hire, and keep strong employees across teams.

- Works as an experienced specialist with a solid grasp of the function.
- Manages issues that vary in type and complexity.
- Requires little day-to-day direction and only general guidance for new tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Build a deep understanding of the company culture and use it to shape a distinctive hiring approach.
- Represent the organization’s career growth opportunities in a clear and compelling way.
- Review incoming applications and determine whether the existing talent pool matches current hiring needs.
- Handle early-stage outreach and screening so hiring managers meet only the strongest candidates.
- Work closely with managers and employees to tap into internal databases and widen sourcing reach.
- Carry out daily recruiting and HR tasks such as job postings, sourcing, referrals, interviews, offers, and candidate handoffs.
- Prepare and update social media content that supports recruitment and reflects company culture.
- Study current recruiting trends and adjust sourcing methods to keep the process competitive.
- Arrange candidate travel for interviews when needed.
- Participate in or lead career fairs at universities and other venues.
- Perform additional related duties as needed.
Qualifications and skills
- A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, plus 5 to 8 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- Ability to work with senior stakeholders inside and outside the organization in the area of expertise.
- Sound judgment when choosing methods and techniques to solve problems.
- Knowledge of how social media can be used to attract both active and passive technical talent.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, especially Outlook and Excel.
Physical and work environment requirements
- Must be able to handle office-based tasks, which may involve sitting or standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to move around within an office setting.
- Must be able to use a computer comfortably.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
