Job description

About Petfolk

Petfolk is rethinking veterinary care by combining excellent medical standards with a friendly, connected experience for pets, their families, and the people who support them.

Role Overview

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will own and grow hiring pipelines to help the veterinary recruitment team meet headcount targets. This person will shape sourcing plans for both established and newly launching markets, using job boards, social channels, professional networks, and industry events to identify qualified candidates. As the first point of contact for prospective hires, the specialist will screen for core capabilities, align expectations early, and keep the top of the funnel moving smoothly. The role works closely with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition leadership, and includes tracking recruitment KPIs and sharing metrics that support better hiring decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and continuously maintain strong candidate pipelines aligned with Petfolk’s hiring plan.
  • Design and run sourcing approaches for current locations as well as new market growth.
  • Use job boards, social platforms, professional communities, and industry events to find licensed veterinarians.
  • Act as the first touchpoint for candidates, evaluating basic fit and setting clear expectations.
  • Support and influence the new requisition process while coordinating between hiring managers and Talent Acquisition leadership.
  • Track talent acquisition KPIs and present practical insights to leadership stakeholders.

What You Need

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent people skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • High attention to detail and solid organizational habits.
  • Good time management and the ability to meet deadlines reliably.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Leadership and supervisory capability.
  • Ability to set priorities and delegate tasks when needed.
  • Comfort learning the project or product quickly if needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar productivity software.

Experience & Education

  • 1 to 3 years of full-cycle recruitment experience; experience in a staffing agency is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience using Greenhouse or a comparable applicant tracking system.
  • Proven ability to build and execute creative sourcing strategies that improve prospect-to-candidate conversion KPIs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, changing environment.
  • Self-driven, inventive, results-oriented, and focused on exceeding goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience in veterinary recruitment is an added advantage.

Work Setup

This position is based in New York City and requires on-site attendance four days per week. The fifth day may be worked remotely or in the office. A dedicated workspace and reliable internet connection are required. Although the role is primarily on-site, regular virtual communication through video calls, email, and other collaboration tools is expected.

Compensation & Benefits

The role offers a base salary between $60,000 and $70,000 along with bonus pay.
