About Affirm
Affirm is reshaping credit to make it clearer and more consumer-friendly, offering people the ability to split purchases over time without surprise fees or interest that compounds.
About the People Team
The People team supports Affirmers in building a high-performing, welcoming organization. Its focus is split across three main pillars: bringing in talent that aligns with the company mission, helping employees grow through development and team support, and keeping people engaged through meaningful experiences and rewards. The team creates programs and systems that help every employee contribute and succeed, strengthening the company over the long term.
Role Overview
Affirm is looking for a Talent Programs Specialist to own and improve the Engineering University Program. This position is responsible for the complete experience of interns, apprentices, and recent graduates, from planning and event coordination to cohort engagement and ongoing program refinement. The role builds on an established foundation and is expected to identify ways to make the program even stronger for future groups.
You will work closely with partners across Talent Acquisition, Engineering, People, and business leadership to shape a smooth, engaging journey for participants. Using experience in university recruiting, program leadership, and employee experience, you will manage several initiatives that support inclusion, engagement, and growth while helping early-career talent programs succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the planning, delivery, and ongoing enhancement of Affirm’s Engineering University Programs, covering internship, apprenticeship, and new graduate tracks.
- Create memorable experiences for early-career participants through well-designed events, programming, and development opportunities.
- Work with University Recruiting to ensure a smooth journey from offer acceptance through the end of the program.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Talent Acquisition, People, and Learning & Development to align goals, improve engagement, and track outcomes.
- Use feedback from participants and stakeholders, along with program data, to spot improvement opportunities and strengthen results each year.
- Oversee communications, schedules, logistics, and participant support across several initiatives at the same time.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in program management or project management, ideally in talent, university recruiting, or employee experience settings.
- Background in building and running university talent initiatives such as internships, campus recruiting efforts, and early-career development programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the confidence to build relationships and influence partners across teams.
- Ability to design strong participant experiences by collaborating across functions, collecting feedback, and continuously improving programs.
- Genuine interest in creating diverse, inclusive, and equitable talent programs.
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail.
- Comfort working through ambiguity, setting priorities, and handling multiple priorities at once.
Compensation and Benefits
The role is mapped to Pay Grade H and Equity Grade 3. New hires typically start at the lower end of the salary band. Compensation is determined using factors such as location, experience, and job-related skills.
The base salary in Canada is CAD 77,000 to CAD 127,000 per year. Base pay is only one part of total compensation, which may also include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness, and technology spending, and benefits such as fully subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents.
- Health coverage with all premiums covered for employees and dependents at every coverage level.
- Flexible spending wallets that include support for technology, food, lifestyle needs, and family-forming expenses.
- Competitive vacation and holiday time so employees can rest and recharge.
- Employee stock purchase plan that allows buying Affirm shares at a discount.
