SWA Transient Aircraft Services Technician - Qatar (Secret Clearance Required)

About the Program

KBR supports the U.S. Air Force through the AFCAP V Program by providing Southwest Asia Transient Aircraft Services (SWA TAS) which enable crucial aircraft arrival and departure operations for U.S. and Coalition Forces. Alongside TAS, KBR delivers additional base support services such as Engineering Support, NTV Leasing, LAMS, Power Production, BOS-I, and quality-of-life enhancements to maintain base functionality.

Role Overview

The Transient Aircraft Services (TAS) Technician at an assigned base is tasked with conducting aircraft ground handling and servicing activities. Reporting to a Supervisor, this role includes managing aircraft arrivals, marshaling, parking, servicing, turnaround, and departures with strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations. The technician plays a key role in maintaining operational readiness and ensuring continuous 24/7/365 flight line support in a demanding, austere environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure zero harm by rigorously following all flight line safety standards including FOD prevention, tool control, and consistent PPE use.
• Marshal, park, and position aircraft in alignment with Technical Orders and airfield procedures.
• Carry out aircraft arrival and departure tasks such as chocking, grounding, and safe positioning on the flight line.
• Perform ground handling and servicing necessary for aircraft turn-around and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with supervisors and airfield management in launching and recovering aircraft.
• Conduct operator-level inspections and maintain servicing of vehicles and flight-line support equipment.
• Maintain strict control of tools and equipment per tool control protocols.
• Engage in FOD prevention by performing routine flight line checks and removing foreign objects promptly.
• Comply with all applicable Technical Orders, safety directives, and standard procedures during operations.
• Communicate effectively within the team to ensure safe and efficient completion of tasks.
• Promptly report safety hazards, equipment issues, and operational concerns to leadership.
• Support accurate documentation including servicing logs, shift reports, and inspections.
• Help keep flight line and work areas clean and organized.
• Participate in training and qualification programs to maintain certification and mission readiness.
• Execute duties in challenging austere conditions, including extreme weather, while prioritizing safety.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by Supervisors or Site Managers.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Maintain operational continuity across rotational shifts adhering to government governance protocols.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in aviation operations, aircraft maintenance, or Transient Aircraft Services, with hands-on flight line or ground operations expertise.

Basic Knowledge

• Aircraft marshaling and ground handling procedures.
• Flight line safety standards.
• Operation of ground support equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting U.S. Air Force Transient Aircraft Services.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) qualification or comparable military experience.
• Knowledge of FOD programs, tool control systems, and flight line safety compliance.
• Experience liaising with Maintenance Operations Control, Airfield Management, and aircraft maintenance teams.
