Job description
About the Role
Join the prestigious King Salman International Airport (KSIA) Terminal 6 substructure project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as a Surveyor working for the AL-HARBI & CCECCKSA Joint Venture under the direction of Bechtel and architectural design by Foster + Partners. This position offers significant hands-on experience performing high-precision surveying primarily focused on precast and fair-faced concrete construction. The role supports Saudi Arabia’s strategic giga-projects, providing exposure to Bechtel's global-standard surveying procedures and avenues for career advancement in infrastructure mega-projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct all field setting-out activities for substructure works with extreme precision, meeting tolerances of ±2mm for precast joints and ±5mm for core wall openings per Foster + Partners’ standards.
- Set out structural elements including raft foundations, core walls, columns, shear walls, prestressed beams, concrete panels, canopy curbs, architectural fins, and retaining walls ensuring compatibility with design grids.
- Perform pre-installation and post-installation dimensional verification of precast components, maintain Precast Component Traceability Registers, and immediately report anomalies to technical leadership.
- Manage and maintain the primary control network and guarantee survey operations conform to GACA airside boundary regulations, coordinating clearances for sensitive security zones.
- Upload survey data to Autodesk Construction Cloud for integration within BIM models and assist BIM personnel to validate model accuracy against field measurements.
- Execute daily quality assurance checks on formwork, reinforcement, and precast installations, and document any non-conformance for corrective action.
- Maintain and calibrate all survey instruments including total stations, GPS rovers, laser levels, and scanners, adhering to Bechtel’s equipment management and reporting requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Saudi nationality is mandatory to comply with local labor regulations and contribute to Nitaqat Platinum status.
- Valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) as a Surveying Technician or Civil Engineer; professional grade preferred, technician grade acceptable with over 3 years experience.
- At least 3 years of practical surveying experience on substantial Saudi infrastructure or airport projects is required, with preference given to candidates with experience on PIF giga-projects.
- Proficient in high-accuracy measurement techniques for precast and fair-faced concrete structural elements.
- Experienced with operation of total stations, GPS equipment, laser levels, and 3D scanning technology.
- Fluent Arabic speaker with strong English communication skills; Mandarin is an advantage.
- Ability and willingness to work predominantly in the field (approximately 80%) with some office duties for reporting.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- Familiarity with Bechtel’s survey protocols and digital documentation standards.
- Understanding Foster + Partners’ terminal design standards and the Saudi Building Code related to measurement tolerances.
- Knowledge of airside operational boundaries and Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) survey clearance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with BIM software (Revit, Navisworks) for linking survey data to model environments.
Benefits and Compensation
- Competitive monthly salary commensurate with experience.
- Full General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) registration according to Saudi labor law.
- Comprehensive medical insurance coverage for employees and eligible family members.
- Support for continuing professional development through subsidized courses, exam fees, and certification renewals to maintain SCE status.
- End-of-service benefits as prescribed by Saudi labor regulations.
Application Details
Candidates are required to submit a detailed CV and a survey portfolio (including as-built surveys, point cloud scans, and calibration certificates) for consideration. Additional submission elements include SCE registration details, descriptions of previous relevant projects, a concise statement of surveying experience in precast concrete, contact information for a professional reference, and salary expectations. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a practical assessment related to precast beam layout using total station and reporting skills.
