Headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the group has built leadership positions in logistics and energy by focusing on large infrastructure projects and operations and maintenance practices aligned with global benchmarks. Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) is a major participant in India’s power transmission and energy infrastructure space. The company supports efficient electricity movement across the country and manages more than 20,000 circuit kilometers of transmission lines and substations, including assets that are operational as well as under development. As part of Adani Group, AESL follows the philosophy of Growth with Goodness and focuses on sustainability, digital innovation, smart grid deployment, and ESG-led growth to strengthen India’s energy security.

Role Purpose

This position is focused on leading land and route survey activities for transmission projects. The role ensures precise survey execution, smooth coordination with project stakeholders, and adherence to regulatory, environmental, and technical requirements. It supports project planning, route selection, right-of-way studies, and geotechnical checks so that transmission projects can move forward on time and within budget.

Core Responsibilities

Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of transmission line surveys, including route alignment, profiling, and tower spotting.

Use suitable survey methods such as Total Station, GPS, and LiDAR to improve accuracy and project viability.

Carry out feasibility checks, identify right-of-way limitations, and recommend practical alternatives to reduce project risk.

Ensure surveys follow applicable standards and guidelines, including IS Codes, CBIP manuals, and statutory survey requirements.

Support approvals by verifying land ownership details, securing required clearances, and maintaining complete documentation.

Strengthen data quality by applying verification checks and comparing GIS and topographical records.

Work with local authorities, landowners, and regulators to help secure land access and right-of-way approvals with minimal disruption.

Coordinate closely with project, engineering, and execution teams by sharing accurate survey outputs and resolving technical mismatches.

Supervise external survey agencies, review deliverables, and ensure work meets defined specifications.

Adopt advanced survey practices such as drone surveys, GIS mapping, and 3D terrain modelling to improve speed and precision.

Evaluate digital tools and automation opportunities to modernize survey data collection and processing.

Identify encroachments, environmental constraints, and acquisition issues early, and help resolve them before they affect execution.

Address differences between survey findings and site conditions in coordination with engineering teams.

Maintain survey records, geospatial information, topographical reports, and land ownership files for compliance and future use.

Prepare accurate reports and insights that help project teams understand terrain challenges and make decisions.

Assign work to team members, provide technical guidance, and ensure safety and quality standards are followed.

Mentor survey staff, encourage knowledge sharing, and drive continuous improvement in survey practices.
