Role Purpose
The Project Transmission Line Manager (Site) - Tx will be accountable for delivering assigned sections of high-voltage 765/400 kV transmission line projects within the planned schedule, budget, productivity, and quality expectations. The position requires a strong focus on zero-harm practices, process discipline, statutory compliance, and smooth site execution through careful coordination, quality assurance, and safety management. The role also includes stakeholder coordination, administrative follow-through, and building a capable, collaborative team environment to ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities
Project execution and planning – Oversee the implementation of transmission line sections by planning, tracking, and coordinating foundation, erection, and stringing work in line with timelines and quality requirements.
Route and tower assessment – Review survey inputs and site conditions to confirm tower locations, route alignment, extension requirements, and crossing points such as highways and railways.
Scheduling and reporting – Build and maintain L2 schedules by forecasting weekly and monthly labour and material needs, and submit daily and monthly MIS reports for management review.
Quality control – Apply Field Quality Plans, IS Codes, and CBIP manuals at site and verify the quality of materials and completed work against the required standards.
Safety and compliance – Enforce occupational health and safety plans, conduct periodic safety training, and carry out regular inspections to reduce risks and maintain compliance.
Documentation and approvals – Keep compensation records, landowner agreements, and administrative files current, and secure the required approvals to avoid penalties.
Stakeholder coordination – Work closely with government offices and administrative officials such as Patwari, Tehsildar, and SDM to support landowner and right-of-way matters.
Vendor and contractor management – Run regular coordination meetings with vendors and contractors to resolve issues quickly, control extra costs, and keep project goals aligned.
Permissions and shutdown support – Maintain active communication with local authorities, arrange shutdowns, and obtain the permissions needed for timely execution.
Budget and cost control – Monitor project spending, manage resources responsibly, and compare actual costs with approved budgets.
Bill verification – Review vendor bills for correctness, approvals, and timely processing to maintain cost discipline.
Risk reduction – Carry out safety checks and quality reviews to identify hazards early and keep the site aligned with zero-harm and statutory requirements.
Technology adoption – Use project management tools and digital systems for live tracking, resource planning, coordination, and process improvement.
Experience and Qualification
A B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering is required. The role calls for 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in execution of high-voltage 765/400 kV transmission line projects. Candidates should have proven capability in resolving right-of-way matters and should understand safety, regulatory compliance, statutory approvals, and quality control expectations for transmission line projects.
