Surveillance Security Guard, Government Facility

Role Overview

GardaWorld is hiring a Surveillance Security Guard for its Security Services business unit in London, Ontario. In this role, you’ll keep a close watch on live security feeds and surroundings, using strong attention to detail and sound judgment to identify unusual activity before it becomes a larger issue. The position may involve work in settings such as security operations centres, call centres, construction sites, parking lots, and gatehouses.

• Hourly pay between $18.35 and $20.00

Key Responsibilities

• Keep an eye on surveillance and security systems to identify suspicious behaviour
• Act promptly when incidents, risks, or threats arise
• Record observations and prepare clear, detailed incident reports
• Carry out routine foot patrols to help maintain site safety
• Manage entry to restricted areas and verify visitor identity where required
• Review security systems for possible weaknesses or technical issues
• Coordinate with police or other authorities during serious incidents or emergencies

Required Qualifications

• Must be legally permitted to work in Canada
• Valid security licence is required
• Current first aid certification
• Ability to write accurate and professional reports
• Good vision and the ability to stay focused for long periods
• Comfortable using technology and security-related systems
• Capable of standing and walking throughout the shift
