Job description
Overview
Join the airport security team in Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, and help safeguard passengers, staff, and restricted airport areas. In this role, you contribute directly to national security by screening travellers and ensuring that airport security procedures are followed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Paid training at $21.82 per hour
- Certified pay range of $24.82 to $26.38 per hour
- Northern allowance of an additional $4.00 per hour

Key Duties
- Check passengers and their personal belongings before boarding
- Stop prohibited items from entering secured airport zones
- Manage entry to restricted areas
- Respond to alarms and document incidents, unlawful activity, or security breaches
- Support emergency procedures inside the airport
Requirements
- Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status
- High school diploma or GED-equivalent qualification
- Clean criminal record and ability to qualify for a RAIC security clearance
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Must live near Goose Bay or be willing to relocate before the start date
Bilingual Service Requirement
This airport is officially designated as bilingual. As a result, services must be available in both English and French, and staffing must support this requirement on every shift. The employer is actively hiring bilingual candidates to meet the expected service levels. Current passenger usage at the airport is approximately 5% French-speaking and 95% English-speaking.
