Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Support Workers providing assistance to the elderly community in Benalla and surrounding areas. This position offers part-time opportunities with the community care team, focusing on enhancing clients’ quality of life through hands-on support.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, household cleaning, laundry, community engagement, and companionship.
  • For qualified personnel, provide personal care, mobility support, and medication reminders.
  • Help clients achieve personal goals and make informed decisions alongside their support networks.
  • Encourage client choice while fostering positive, meaningful routines and activities.
  • Rostering is tailored to geographical locations to reduce employee travel time, with clients residing in and around Benalla.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Previous experience in healthcare is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm and a proactive mindset are essential.
  • A Certificate III in Aged Care, Home and Community Care, Disability, or Individual Support is desirable but not required.
  • Must hold a current, valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Comfortable with technology such as smartphones, email, and internet.
  • Commitment to working within a mission-driven organisation dedicated to caring for others.
