Job description

Role Overview

This is a 12-month W2 contract opportunity for a Supply Planning Analyst based in Oakland, California. The position supports inventory planning, materials forecasting, procurement coordination, and supply chain improvement work in a large utility setting.

What You Will Handle

  • Oversee supply planning work across several material groups.
  • Evaluate purchase requests and help arrange stock movement between locations.
  • Contribute to efforts that improve inventory levels and forecasting accuracy.
  • Identify supply exposure, shortages, and other material-related risks.
  • Keep SAP planning settings and inventory targets up to date.
  • Summarize analysis and present recommendations to management.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and process enhancements.

Experience and Technical Background

Candidates should bring at least 5 years of experience in supply chain, materials planning, inventory planning, or a closely related area. Practical use of SAP MRP or a similar MRP platform is required, along with strong capability in inventory control, demand planning, and forecasting.

Advanced Excel proficiency is also needed, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting, formulas and data analysis, and keyboard shortcuts. The role also calls for strong analytical judgment, organization, communication, and decision-making skills, plus the ability to work effectively with Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Project teams.

Preferred Background

  • APICS CPIM certification.
  • Experience with SAP APO, Oracle Demand Planning, or comparable planning systems.
  • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma practices.
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.

This role is structured as a 12-month W2 contract. It is an on-site position in Oakland, CA. No stipend or salary amount was provided.
