Kafkas Limited, the authorized distributor for Beko and Dr. Mattress brands, is seeking a dedicated Supply Chain Specialist to join our Kampala office. This opportunity is suited for a meticulous and proactive individual capable of handling comprehensive supply chain and purchasing tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire ordering process with suppliers from initiation to completion.
- Manage inbound logistics including coordinating shipments from suppliers to our warehouse.
- Prepare and oversee shipping, import, and customs clearance documentation accurately.
- Liaise with customs and related entities to ensure smooth clearance procedures.
- Continuously monitor inventory levels, assist with physical stock counts, and maintain precise stock records within the system.
- Maintain adequate stock levels by monitoring and enforcing minimum inventory thresholds to prevent shortages.
- Execute local procurement activities aligned with company needs.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, warehouse personnel, and internal teams to guarantee timely product availability.
- Track order statuses, delivery timelines, and maintain relevant documentation for efficient operations.
- Manage processes related to damaged goods and reverse logistics when applicable.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on supply chain activities, stock status, and purchasing for management review.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- At least five years of proven experience in supply chain, logistics, purchasing, or import operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage supply chain activities across multiple sourcing locations.
- Experience handling a large and varied stock-keeping units (SKUs) in dynamic commercial settings is advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of order management, reporting, inbound logistics, customs clearance, and reverse logistics.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order tracking and control.
- Proficient in generating operational, inventory, and procurement reports.
- Excellent coordination, follow-up, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Fluency in English with strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in using MS Office applications, particularly Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
- High responsibility ethic and meticulous work habit.
