Role Overview
Freedom is hiring a Supply Chain Specialist for its Milton, Ontario location. This position supports the daily execution of supply chain, logistics, inventory, purchasing, and warehouse activities. The role partners with internal teams, vendors, and logistics providers to help ensure on-time purchasing, precise inventory tracking, smooth order fulfillment, and ongoing process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main contact for purchase order creation, order tracking, and vendor communication.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders for project and service teams, including gathering and sharing quotes based on internal requests.
- Work with vendors to follow up on open purchase orders and help ensure deliveries arrive on time.
- Address supply chain interruptions, delivery delays, and supplier-related issues quickly and effectively.
- Keep inventory records, SKU setup, inventory allocation, and system information accurate in NetSuite ERP.
- Maintain clear documentation for purchasing, inventory, and logistics activities in ERP systems.
- Process invoices tied to active projects.
- Create and circulate operational reports, meeting notes, action items, and related support documents.
- Work with internal stakeholders to support business requirements and operational priorities.
- Spot process gaps, inefficiencies, and operational risks, then help implement improved workflows and continuous improvement efforts related to freight efficiency, inventory control, and scalability.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation, including pickups, deliveries, and fulfillment scheduling.
- Investigate and correct inventory variances through cycle counts, reconciliations, and audits, and support the annual inventory process.
- Assist the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager in carrying out supply chain and logistics responsibilities.
- Help maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety standards, and support shipping and receiving when needed.
- Review monthly QAQC record checks and attend the monthly meeting with the QEHS Director.
- Handle additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in supply chain, warehousing, inventory, production, or a similar environment.
- Good understanding of supply chain operations, including shipping and receiving, quality assurance, equipment maintenance, and facility upkeep.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP in supply chain, inventory, purchasing, and logistics functions; experience with EPICOR, SAP, or similar systems is considered an advantage.
- Strong organization skills with careful attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work according to deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, self-direction, and a willingness to learn.
- Good interpersonal skills and clear spoken and written English communication.
- Ability to sustain physical effort while handling average and heavy materials weighing 20–40 lbs.
- Forklift experience is considered an asset.
