Job description
Role Overview
The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for managing daily supply chain activities across various domains such as materials planning, production scheduling, inventory control, logistics, demand management, customer service, and order fulfillment. The role ensures alignment of supply chain operations with business goals while fulfilling internal and external customer needs. Key focus areas include enhancing planning accuracy, operational efficiency, inventory management, and continuous process improvements leveraging planning systems and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily supply chain planning tasks to guarantee seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
- Formulate and sustain effective planning strategies to optimize material flow and planning signals.
- Regularly analyze and adjust planning parameters within supply chain systems to elevate forecast precision and performance.
- Interpret supply chain metrics and KPIs to detect trends, identify gaps, and spot improvement opportunities.
- Anticipate supply chain risks including material shortages and implement prompt corrective measures.
- Work collaboratively with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, engineering, suppliers, and other stakeholders to resolve planning challenges and boost operational outcomes.
- Utilize ERP/MRP planning systems and analytical tools to manage supply-demand balance, inventory levels, and materials availability.
- Support engineering change management processes like new part introductions, supersession, and obsolescence to minimize excessive and obsolete stock.
- Apply Plan for Every Part (PFEP) methodology to enhance material handling, inventory control, transportation, warehouse activities, and maintain master data accuracy.
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of Master Supply Schedules aligning procurement and production to business needs.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to refine planning processes, tools, and overall supply chain performance.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Expertise in supply chain planning, materials and inventory optimization, demand-supply alignment, and master scheduling.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and supply chain planning software.
- Knowledge of PFEP principles and engineering change management.
- Strong abilities in KPI analysis, root cause problem-solving, data-driven decision-making using analytical and business intelligence tools.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills coupled with a customer-centric approach.
- Capability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environments with a global and culturally diverse team orientation.
Experience Requirements
- Experience in supply chain, materials planning, production scheduling, inventory management, or logistics.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP planning tools and business intelligence systems is preferred.
- Previous exposure to global supply chains and collaboration with international suppliers is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams especially in manufacturing or complex supply chain setups.
Work Schedule and Benefits
- Night shift work hours from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM IST.
- Night shift allowance as per company policy.
- Transportation facilities including pickup and drop-off within PMC and PCMC limits.
- Candidate must be willing to adhere to the night shift schedule.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or related fields.
- Equivalent professional qualifications and experience may be considered.
