Job description

About the Company

ACC Heavy Duty (ACC HD) has been operating since 1983 and is known for supplying OEM-quality and aftermarket parts to the heavy truck, trailer, and RV sectors. The company works from an 80,000+ sq ft facility in Bolingbrook, Illinois, producing products such as chrome accessories, forward lighting, hub caps, grilles, and other engineered components for commercial vehicle OEMs and aftermarket buyers. Its focus is on understanding customer needs and delivering practical, high-quality solutions.

Role Overview

ACC HD is hiring a Supply Chain / Operations Manager to oversee Purchasing, Planning, Distribution, Logistics, and Customer Care. This is a broad leadership role suited to someone with well-rounded supply chain experience who can improve performance across several functions while helping the business scale into a world-class operation. The position is fully on-site in the Greater Chicago area, and relocation support is not available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the full supply chain operation, including purchasing, planning, distribution, logistics, and customer care.
  • Oversee supplier performance across the global vendor base, with a strong focus on APAC suppliers. Supplier management, sourcing, and procurement support are shared with the Shanghai team, along with corporate oversight.
  • Guide and support two direct reports, building capability, teamwork, and accountability within the group.
  • Align demand planning with supply planning to improve on-time delivery while also meeting inventory and working-capital goals.
  • Lead improvement work across SQDCI priorities: safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory.
  • Carry forward current transformation projects and actively identify new improvement opportunities.
  • Strengthen customer service levels so the company remains a preferred supplier.
  • Drive supply chain business systems initiatives in coordination with the centralized business systems and IT teams.
  • Develop and deliver performance dashboards, corrective actions, and continuous improvement updates to senior leadership.
  • Support product-line expansion, customer growth, and other business-scaling initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of experience in supply chain or operations management across multiple functions.
  • APICS certification such as CPIM or CSCP is strongly preferred.
  • Confident leadership style with the ability to raise team performance and functional capability.
  • Background in manufacturing, operations, warehouse management, or distribution is important.
  • Ability to thrive in a small-company, fast-moving, multitasking environment.
  • Strong customer orientation and communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with supply planning, demand planning, supplier management, logistics, and inventory optimization.
  • Track record of delivering strong KPI and financial results.
  • Experience working with a global supplier network.
  • Comfort managing a make-to-stock or purchase-to-stock environment with long supplier lead times and short customer lead times.
  • Automotive or heavy-duty truck industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience with OEM/OES and aftermarket channels is preferred.
  • Exposure to a primarily APAC-based supplier base is preferred.
  • Multi-national and multi-cultural business experience is preferred.
  • Mandarin fluency is helpful but not mandatory.
