Key Responsibilities
- Generate and oversee purchase orders linked to manufacturing and operations needs.
- Identify, assess, and engage suppliers for materials, parts, and subcontracting services.
- Track supplier effectiveness, manage lead times, and schedule deliveries.
- Maintain inventory levels and assist with stock control procedures.
- Coordinate material needs in line with production timetables.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to facilitate new product introduction efforts.
- Ensure precise record-keeping of supply chain data within ERP software.
- Discover ways to reduce costs and enhance procurement processes.
- Support demand planning and forecasting activities.
- Contribute to quality investigations concerning supplier issues and product non-conformance.
- Organize logistics, freight handling, and import/export arrangements as required.
- Develop and sustain strong partnerships with suppliers locally and internationally.
Required Experience and Skills
- Background in supply chain, procurement, purchasing, or materials management within manufacturing settings.
- Proven skills in managing suppliers and engaging with various stakeholders effectively.
- Experience handling purchase orders, inventory management, and material planning.
- Understanding of manufacturing supply chains and production processes.
- Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems.
- Strong organizational competencies with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Australian citizenship or eligibility to acquire required security clearances.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in defence, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or engineering sectors.
- Knowledge of new product introduction (NPI) and engineering change management.
- Expertise in inventory planning, forecasting, and demand management.
- International sourcing and supplier oversight experience.
- Awareness of quality control systems, supplier audits, and compliance standards.
- Tertiary education in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related fields.
