Job description

Role overview

A Dublin-based employer is looking to add a Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer to its expanding team on a permanent full-time basis. This position supports the production of electronic goods through third-party manufacturing partners, with a strong emphasis on keeping manufacturing efficient, maintaining product quality, protecting supply continuity, and helping launch new products into production successfully.

What you will do

  • Act as manufacturing engineering support for contract manufacturers.
  • Contribute to new product introduction activities and production changeovers or transfers.
  • Investigate and close out manufacturing, quality, and production-related issues.
  • Own engineering change handling and keep manufacturing records and documentation current.
  • Spot risks affecting component supply and manufacturing, then work to reduce them.
  • Lead improvements to manufacturing processes and initiatives aimed at lowering cost.
  • Assist with development and validation of production test solutions.
  • Work closely with teams across engineering, procurement, planning, and operations.

Required background

  • A degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering is needed.
  • At least 5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or contract manufacturing.
  • Hands-on exposure to NPI and manufacturing support work is required.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving ability and solid project management skills are important.
  • Experience partnering with internal functions and external suppliers is expected.
  • The role requires flexibility to travel when necessary.

Preferred experience

  • Previous involvement in manufacturing transfers.
  • Understanding of component lifecycle management.
  • Background in cost-reduction work and continuous improvement projects within manufacturing.
