Supply Chain Manager - Orthopedic Medical Device

Overview

We are a growing manufacturer specializing in orthopedic medical devices seeking a seasoned Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize our comprehensive supply chain operations. This leadership position demands active involvement in managing the seamless flow of materials, inventory, and finished products across manufacturing, distribution, and field operations.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in supply chain management within regulated manufacturing sectors and will excel in a dynamic environment that encourages operational excellence, accountability, and ongoing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company growth and objectives.
• Oversee end-to-end material management including sourcing, procurement, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and field inventory oversight.
• Evaluate demand patterns and inventory needs using performance data to support forecasting and operational decisions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to align production schedules with customer demand to avoid surplus inventory.
• Manage supplier partnerships, negotiate contracts for pricing and services.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts applying methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
• Define and track key supply chain performance indicators and implement improvements as needed.
• Supervise transportation, warehousing, and distribution to guarantee on-time, accurate product delivery.
• Direct the deployment and enhancement of database and asset tracking systems.
• Conduct routine inventory audits at distributor and customer sites, as well as field locations.
• Analyze inventory usage and recommend strategic adjustments to optimize stock availability and readiness.
• Ensure shipment precision, inventory accuracy, and efficient operations across multiple sites.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the supply chain team, promoting accountability and continuous enhancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years’ experience in supply chain, operations, logistics, or materials management.
• Knowledge and experience in regulated environments such as medical device, orthopedic, or surgical manufacturing industries.
• Competence in inventory management, procurement, demand planning, logistics, and manufacturing operations.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP software and production planning methods.
• Proficiency in data analytics and reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar platforms.
• A record of successful process improvement and efficiency initiatives.
• Experience managing multi-location inventory including consignment and field inventory models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Proven leadership managing teams and cross-functional projects in fast-paced environments.

Work Environment

• This is a full-time role based onsite in Carrollton, Texas near Dallas.
• Monday to Friday, daytime shift schedule.
• The role is operationally intensive and hands-on.
• Periodic lifting and handling of medical devices and instruments required.
• Occasional travel necessary for inventory audits and field support.
• Availability to address critical operational issues beyond normal hours as needed.
