Job description
Role overview
Rychiger is looking for a Supply Chain Manager for North America to shape and oversee a strong supply base across Canada and the United States. The position supports machine manufacturing, spare parts, and aftermarket service for Rychiger Canada (RYCA) and Rychiger North America (RYNA). It will focus on supplier development, sourcing strategy, and localizing procurement to increase North American purchasing of commercial parts, machined items, fabrications, and assemblies while reducing reliance on overseas and intercompany supply.
This role collaborates closely with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Service, Sales, and Finance.
What you'll do
- Create and put into action a sourcing plan for North America that supports the company’s growth targets.
- Find opportunities to improve supplier responsiveness, shorten lead times, cut total landed cost, and make the supply chain more resilient.
- Lead localization efforts that reduce tariff exposure and lower supply chain risk.
- Define, track, and report supply chain KPIs and performance measures.
- Source, assess, negotiate with, and manage suppliers across Canada and the U.S. for COTS components, electrical and controls, pneumatics and motion control, machined and fabricated parts, weldments, assemblies, and contract manufacturing services.
- Develop long-term supplier relationships centered on quality, delivery, cost, innovation, and future growth.
- Carry out supplier audits, capability checks, and qualification reviews.
- Drive savings programs and value engineering efforts.
- Monitor market trends and supplier capacity limitations.
- Work with Finance and project leaders on budgeting and forecasting support.
- Partner with Engineering and Project Management to define material needs and long-lead items.
- Create alternative sourcing plans and last-time-buy recommendations.
- Support component standardization and approved-vendor strategies with Engineering.
- Build supplier scorecards and hold regular business reviews with key vendors.
- Monitor supplier quality, delivery, responsiveness, and commercial competitiveness.
- Lead corrective actions for suppliers that are not meeting expectations.
- Set continuous improvement expectations across the supplier network.
- Improve procurement and sourcing workflows in Genius ERP and future enterprise systems.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools that improve visibility into sourcing and supplier performance.
- Standardize purchasing procedures, sourcing methods, and supplier onboarding practices.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional credentials such as SCMP, CSCP, CPSM, or CPIM are considered an advantage.
- 7 to 10 years of steadily increasing experience in supply chain, procurement, or sourcing, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience building supplier networks across Canada and the U.S., preferably in industrial machinery, automation, or packaging equipment.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management abilities.
- ERP system experience is required; experience with Genius ERP is an asset.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
