About the Role
Join Hitachi Energy's HVDC GI Valves business unit as an E2E Supply Chain Management (SCM) Value Chain Specialist at the new HVDC Converter Valve factory in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This position plays a key role in establishing a robust supply chain foundation that collaborates closely with global factory and supply chain teams. The role covers the entire value chain process, including material planning, procurement, and production order management.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate setup of the full E2E supply chain value chain including processes, systems, and organizational alignment for the new factory.
- Participate in designing and implementing SCM processes using SAP S/4HANA, encompassing planning, procurement, inventory, and logistics, ensuring integration with global and local requirements.
- Manage material planning and tactical/operational procurement, including creating Purchase Orders and RFQs in SAP, tracking supplier schedules, and monitoring performance.
- Maintain accurate high-quality material master data and key planning/procurement parameters in SAP.
- Support project buyers to ensure timely material availability and coordinate with suppliers throughout project execution.
- Validate goods receipts, assist invoice processing, and resolve discrepancies.
- Handle daily SCM operations including data management, KPI monitoring, and reporting.
- Oversee production preparation to optimize material allocation and readiness for manufacturing.
- Aid Global Category Managers in sourcing strategies, supplier identification, qualification, and contract adaptation to local needs.
- Ensure steady material supply for uninterrupted production and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
- Interface with stakeholders through tendering, production, and project execution phases.
- Ensure supplier adherence to all relevant laws, certifications, and Hitachi Energy’s ethical standards.
- Conduct procurement and logistics activities aligned with company policies.
- Support warehouse and logistics process setup, including inbound flow management and inventory coordination.
- Track SCM performance indicators such as OTIF, lead times, inventory, and supplier metrics, driving continuous improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in procurement, SCM, production preparation, or related fields.
- Practical experience with material and production planning plus SAP S/4HANA expertise.
- Understanding of production processes and technical components.
- Strong knowledge of material master data and planning parameters like MRP and sourcing strategies.
- Experience handling end-to-end supply chain processes and logistics.
- Excellent organizational multi-tasking skills in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to prioritize, adapt quickly and sustain performance under pressure.
- Self-motivated with leadership qualities and capability to work autonomously in developing operational setups.
- Team player with excellent communication, collaboration, and global stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience within multicultural and international business contexts.
- Energetic, motivated, and resilient with problem-solving capability.
- Previous leadership or coordination experience is a plus.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
