Role overview
The company is hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer for hydraulic cylinders. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager and plays a key role in ensuring that hydraulic cylinder quality standards are met across both internal and external suppliers.

- Ensure compliance with technical specifications as well as performance and safety standards for hydraulic parts such as cylinders, piston rods, seals, pistons, and housings.
- Monitor internal group members and external suppliers on manufacturing processes and assembly methods, including adherence to relevant standards and internal welding instructions, in coordination with the Quality Manager and the IWE.
- Inspect and approve components, including direct approvals at supplier sites when needed.
- Carry out supplier audits and track supplier performance.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify underlying causes of quality issues.
- Advise and guide suppliers on corrective actions to eliminate technical defects and improve efficiency.
- Act as the link between design/development and purchasing.
Requirements
Applicants should have a completed degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a similar field; additional business-related knowledge is considered an advantage. Several years of experience in quality management for hydraulic components is required, along with hands-on exposure to welding, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
You should also bring material and metallurgy knowledge, familiarity with all relevant standards, experience in supplier auditing and supplier development in an international setting, and working knowledge of SAP and MS Office. Strong written and spoken German and English are expected, while additional languages can be beneficial.
Personal strengths include a strong focus on quality and cost awareness, the ability to coach others and transfer knowledge, confident communication and assertiveness, readiness for frequent international travel, and intercultural competence.
Compensation
The role is graded at EG12 under the Metall NRW collective agreement.
