Job Overview
This role involves overseeing the safe and effective execution of both preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, and repairs for all static and mobile mechanical systems at aviation depots across civil airports throughout the UAE. Compliance with aviation standards and manufacturer recommendations is essential, alongside maximizing manpower and material resource efficiency.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise maintenance, repair, and servicing activities for all mechanical equipment including pipelines, valves, transfer pumps, measurement instruments, process facilities, air compressors, and storage tanks, ensuring adherence to JIG, company, aviation, engineering, safety, and environmental standards.
- Review, allocate, and schedule daily work orders related to maintenance needs at Aviation Fuelling stations and storage facilities, coordinating with the team manager for repair and maintenance execution.
- Liaise with end users to oversee repairs, replacements, modifications, calibrations, and overhauls performed by technicians to ensure smooth progress of scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Ensure routine and scheduled inspections and maintenance of all mechanical equipment such as product pumps, pipelines, storage tanks, air compressors, generators, and fuel dispensing units; monitor signs of corrosion and assist with implementing protection methods.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and restore functionality swiftly.
- Ensure all safety procedures and work permits are strictly observed prior to and during maintenance activities.
- Oversee major overhauls as well as testing and calibration of mechanical components following prescribed procedures.
- Identify and report recurring mechanical defects to supervisors for appropriate intervention.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Mechanical Maintenance team leader as necessary.
- Prepare spare parts requisitions and verify stock requests ensuring correct specifications and inventory levels are maintained.
- Guarantee all maintenance jobs comply with Aviation Operational Standards and adhere to documented work instructions and control procedures.
- Supervise general maintenance and repairs of company facilities at all UAE civil aviation locations and strategic customer sites, including coordination of work done by third-party contractors such as carpentry and painting; escalate major works to team leaders and department managers.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by recommending enhancements to maintenance methods, establishing execution standards, and staying current with emerging techniques and standards.
- Analyze manpower and cost data related to maintenance and modifications to ensure the efficient use of resources in scheduled maintenance programs.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Mechanical Maintenance within an Aviation Fuelling company.
- Advanced knowledge and expertise with aviation equipment and vehicles.
- Proficient in English communication.
- Valid UAE driving license.
