Supervisor - LPG Cylinders Plant Operations

Job Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing the production and filling processes of LPG cylinders, ensuring production targets are met, and maintaining adequate inventories of filled and empty cylinders according to demand schedules.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist the Team Leader in creating weekly and daily production schedules based on available empty cylinders and optimal filling line utilization.
• Coordinate with distribution teams to align daily production output with customer and filling station requirements.
• Ensure availability of all necessary resources to execute production plans, including preparing daily schedules and manpower arrangements.
• Manage store requisitions based on production needs and coordinate with stores for material collection.
• Plan weekly empty cylinder deliveries in collaboration with distribution for timely feeding to the filling plant.
• Supervise plant operators and forklift operators, issuing instructions for cylinder filling aligned with daily work programs.
• Ensure cylinders are filled adhering strictly to technical standards and safety protocols.
• Maintain operational condition of production machinery and coordinate repairs and maintenance with the maintenance team.
• Report equipment malfunctions and emergencies promptly to the Team Leader for remedial measures.
• Keep detailed records of cylinders by quantity, size, and condition across production and storage locations, monitor cylinder safety, and handle customer complaints related to cylinders.
• Update shift operation information accurately in the electronic shift handover system.
• Raise work notifications and maintain logs for filling line equipment issues; coordinate preventive maintenance activities.
• Prepare daily and monthly production reports detailing cylinders filled and LPG bulk consumption, entering data into ERP systems and reconciling with distribution sections.
• Record and categorize cylinders rejected during filling processes.
• Reconcile LPG bulk consumption figures with supply and team leader supervisors.
• Calculate daily efficiency of filling lines to maximize asset utilization and identify operational bottlenecks.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance filling line performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Technical Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related disciplines.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience supervising LPG bottling or related oil and gas operations.
