Job description
Opportunity Overview
Powerco is inviting applications for seven summer student positions mainly based in New Plymouth, with some availability in Wellington and Tauranga. These roles target Year 12 or 13 high school students, recent high school graduates, or first-year university or polytechnic students. The students will assist the Electricity team with various essential tasks that were postponed during the year.
Key Duties
- Locating and digitizing electrical plans and relevant documentation.
- Verifying, researching, and enhancing record accuracy to ensure correct information placement.
- Labeling, performing quality assurance, and disposing of obsolete paper files after digitization.
- Reviewing and correcting SCADA system displays, including verifying line sizes and equipment ratings.
- Updating and organizing GIS connectivity data.
Candidate Profile
- Current Year 12, Year 13, recent high school leavers, or first-year tertiary students.
- Dependable with strong attention to detail and quick adaptability to new systems and tasks.
- Proactive in seeking assistance and asking questions when needed.
- Beneficial but not required: experience with GIS or spatial data, familiarity with drawing software, or any previous involvement in the energy sector.
