Job description
Role Overview
Smartail is looking for a Subject Matter Expert to create and refine school-level question papers and assessment content. The position is centered on producing accurate, curriculum-aligned exam material and supporting AI-driven assessment tools so that grading and automation become more reliable.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and curate well-structured question papers that follow school syllabus requirements and academic standards.
- Include a healthy mix of question formats such as multiple-choice questions, short-response items, long-answer questions, and case-based questions to test different learning levels.
- Partner with AI and product teams to improve the precision and efficiency of automated evaluation systems.
- Check AI-created assessments, verify correctness, and help safeguard academic quality and integrity.
- Monitor curriculum updates and evolving education practices to keep the content current and relevant.
- Share suggestions that strengthen Smartail’s AI-based assessment models.
- Support content validation, perform quality checks, and contribute to training efforts for handwriting recognition models.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to address subject-specific questions and provide expert input.
Skills and Qualifications
The role calls for strong subject knowledge along with a practical understanding of content development and review. Applicants should have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Social Sciences, Commerce, Accounts, or a related discipline. Prior experience in preparing question papers or academic assessment material is required. Candidates should bring solid mastery of their subject area, working knowledge of computer applications used for content creation and review, excellent written and spoken English, strong accuracy and consistency, and the ability to manage deadlines and multiple tasks efficiently.
