Role overview
W Hotels is hiring a Style Shift Leader for its housekeeping and laundry function in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, non-management position based onsite at the Al Aqeeq Street financial district location.
The role focuses on maintaining guest room cleanliness and presentation standards, coordinating housekeeping documentation, supporting team leadership activities, and helping deliver the brand’s service philosophy through attentive, high-quality guest care.
Key duties
In this position, you will track room-cleaning status, complete cleanliness and condition checklists, and handle the required housekeeping paperwork. You will determine room assignments and the type of cleaning each room needs, inspect rooms after housekeeping staff have finished, and respond quickly to requests from guests and other departments.
You will also enter guest rooms only after following the proper access and vacancy checks. In addition, the role involves assisting management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, while serving as a role model for the team.
Standards, safety, and service
You are expected to follow all company, safety, and security procedures; report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete required safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials correctly. The role also requires maintaining a neat, professional appearance, protecting confidential information, and safeguarding company assets.
Guest service is a core part of the job. You will greet guests according to company standards, recognize their needs proactively, support guests with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely. You should also help strengthen quality standards, look for ways to improve efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, and cost control, and build positive working relationships across the team.
Physical and system requirements
This job calls for clear professional communication, the ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 55 pounds without assistance and more than 55 pounds with assistance, and the ability to push or pull a loaded housekeeping cart across uneven or sloped surfaces.
You should be able to reach, bend, twist, stoop, stand, sit, kneel, and walk for long periods throughout the shift. The role also requires handling objects of different sizes and weights, using fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, working with computer or point-of-sale systems, and reviewing written documents visually.
Preferred background
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. The position requires at least 1 year of relevant work experience. No supervisory experience is required, and no license or certification is listed.
