Student*in – Messe-Service – Koelnmesse

About the Role

As a student helper in the trade fair catering and service area at Koelnmesse, you will support a busy event environment with a wide range of hospitality tasks. The role is designed to fit alongside your studies and offers a varied working day in an international setting with well-known clients from the exhibition catering sector.

Koelnmesse hosts more than 80 trade fairs, exhibitions, and events every year, so you can expect regular assignments at high-profile shows and lively event formats.

Key Duties

• Assist across different food and beverage service areas at the exhibition center
• Look after buffet setups and guest-facing food stations
• Serve food and drinks in hospitality areas
• Support customers in trade fair outlets
• Prepare snacks and pour draft beverages
• Keep the work area clean, tidy, and well organized
• Follow HACCP hygiene and food safety standards
• For evening events, such as trade fair or booth parties, work service shifts in the late hours if you are available at night

Candidate Profile

You should be enrolled at a university or university of applied sciences, be at least 18 years old, and enjoy working as a host or hostess in a guest-oriented setting. First experience in service or at trade fairs is helpful, but not mandatory.

The role calls for flexibility, reliability, strong teamwork, a well-groomed appearance, good manners, motivation, and energy. Very good German is required, and additional foreign languages are an advantage. You also need the required instruction under Section 43 of the German Infection Protection Act (IfSG).
